Sustainability Leader Project Part 2: Applying Strategic Leadership Concepts and Providing Recommendations for Improvement Title: Request for Deadline Extension for Medical Reasons: Supporting Documentation and Analysis

To prepare for this assignment, read the full instructions for this class’s “Sustainability Leader” Project”. Be sure you have viewed to the Sustainability Leader Project Overview video in Module 6 and reviewed the resources under the Resources for Sustainability Leader Project, especially the Library database tutorial video by Michelle Shea, the Management librarian, who is also available to help you with your research. To schedule an appointment with her, link to Scheduling an appointment with Ms. Shea (https://tamuct.libguides.com/prf.php?account_id=182411) She is Canvas proficient and can meet with you via chat, web-conferencing, in-person or phone.
By the date/time noted on the Canvas Syllabus Page, complete the following sections for your project.
Section 4 (60 Points): Apply Strategic Leadership Concepts from Chapter 12.
In this section, you are to analyze the dynamics of the situation or situations you described in Section 3 of your Sustainability Leadership Project Part 1 through an in-depth application of Phase 1 of the Strategy-Making, Strategy-Execution Process from Chapter 12 Ex 12.1 (see pages 507-510; ). 1. Regarding your sustainability leader’s organization: What is its vision, mission, and values regarding who they are, what they do, where they are going, and why? 2. About your sustainability leader: As part of your analysis of your sustainability leader, what actions did they take and how did they personally further sustainability and sustainable development (the Introduction to Sustainability and Sustainability Resources Module should be especially useful here). Be sure to include a discussion of one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that provides the focus for their leadership for sustainability.
This section should consist of 4-6 well-developed paragraphs (400-600 words). ALL aspects of the phase should be fully explored fully; you will want to demonstrate your complete understanding of the phase. Include citations where relevant.
Section 5 (20 points): Advice for the Leader 1. Offer your analysis of the actions the leader took and your expert recommendation for actions they might have done differently (and why). You will want in this section to draw on the theories/concepts/models (e.g., transformational leadership) you have learned through this assignment and to help you think through how this leader could improve as a sustainability leader. 2. After you have identified those things they might have done differently, offer advice for going forward regarding what they can do to improve their leadership (it is not enough in this section to say “they are doing a great job.” Leaders can always improve!)? One way to do this is to review your paper, especially Section 2 Part 1 (Summary of the Leader’s Traits, behaviors, and Style). Even though the leader has been successful, there are choices, decisions, or directions they took that, in hindsight, may have been done differently. This section should consist of 2-4 well-developed paragraphs (200-400 words).
Use of Sources:
You are required to use at least 6 credible business press sources for your paper. At least three should be from the library databases. Company web sites are allowable sources but are NOT considered part of this six. All citations in the paper and the reference listing at the end must be in proper APA format (see APA module in Course Resources for help). Referencing multiple pages from the same organization’s website only counts as one citation. Neither does the Lussier & Achua Textbook required for this course.
Example “A” Sustainability Leader paper
The final product should be single-spaced (not APA but it makes for easier grading), have 8 pt spacing between paragraphs (exclusive of cover page, table of contents, references and attachments), APA style, 1 inch margins, 12 pitch, times new roman font.
No late submissions will be accepted unless arrangements are made PRIOR to the day of the assignment’s deadline. In some cases, the request for a deadline extension should be accompanied with a doctor or hospital note as back-up.
Grading Criteria within each Section:
Fully proofread and clear writing
Full application of text frameworks used
Insightful and accurate analysis
Proper citations with strong sources given where necessary, citations and reference list all in APA format.
Format:
Citations within paper and reference list at end of paper must be in APA format.
Follow APA format with a few exceptions:Title your paper with .doc name: last name_MGMT 425_leader last name. Insert a running footer with page number and your last name.
Double space between sections and paragraphs. Single space within paragraphs.
Clearly label each section and subsection.
For information on APA standards and correct citation formats consult the APA Resource link, and/or link to the following sources: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_overview_and_workshop.html
This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin, which will also check for use of AI software. You have all week to submit your assignment and you have unlimited submissions until the due date. I recommend submitting your first draft early, so you can make corrections in case your similarity report is too high. A similarity report of higher than 20% will result in a grade reduction between 10% – 100% of your assignment grade.
