1. Describe the topic you will use to develop a problem-based curriculum.
The topic chosen for the problem-based curriculum is: Mental Health Awareness among High School Students. By including this curriculum, this is to address the emerging mental health issues such as stress due to academic performance pressure, social isolation due to social affects, and the effects of COVID 19 impacts.

The curriculum is being developed for a suburban k-12 school district in Kansas. This district is designed for students who belong to different ethnicity, half of them are Hispanic, a quarter of them is black, and the rest 45% is white. The district has experienced increased concern in learner’s distress with the signs being seen in poor performance, increased truancy and propulsion for counseling services due to student’s anxiety, depression and stress.

There might also be other timetable issues within the school classroom curriculum that could slow down the implementation of this new curriculum.
